Healthier Plants
Hydroponically grown plants receive a nearly perfect diet. They are healthier than soil-grown plants. That means more nutrients, and fewer diseases.
Healthier Consumers
Herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides are not used when you grow hydroponically, consequently your produce is safer & healthier to eat. More so, it's healthier to grow – farm workers don't have to be constantly exposed to these toxic chemicals.
Higher Yields
Hydroponic systems deliver nearly perfect amounts of water and nutrients to the plants which allows the crops to grow faster. Healthier plants produce higher yields. Perfect plant conditions result in perfect plant production.
Conservation
Hydroponic systems conserve water by preventing evaporation and runoff. They also conserve space by allowing plants to grow close together. The plants take what they need with little waste. Hydroponics is great option for growing food where space and/or water are limited.
There are several types of hydroponic growing systems. We will be happy to consult with you or you can consult with your local hydroponic retailer to determine which lights, nutrients, and plants will work best for you. Beyond that... It's relatively easy to get started. No green thumb required.
We have some starter packages that will be coming very soon to our website. For both indoor and outdoor hydroponic gardening.
Hydroponics is the science of growing plants without soil. Instead, plants are grown in solutions containing all the necessary mineral elements. Bare-root systems and inert-substrate systems are used to get nutrients to the roots and to support the plants. Hydroponic is derived from the Greek "hydro" for water and "ponos" for works. Literally means water working. Hydroponics is growing plants in water without any type of media, but growing in any media that is not soil is in the same category.
One common misconception that we hear when talking to people is that hydroponics and organics are synonymis. That is not the case at all. To break it down to the basics, growing organic is simply growing without the use of chemicals such as chemical based fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, or any other element that does not occur naturally. Hydroponics is growing without soil.
With that said, manufacturers are finding a growing need to create products that are meant for both hydroponics and organics, or hydro-organics. A majority of nutrients (fertilizers) that are prduced for hydroponics have been
Truthfully, you can grow with a hydroponic system anywhere... just as long as you have the proper lighting, nutrients, containers and potable water. The versatility of hydroponics makes it a desirable method of gardening.
